Book Mailing Service for D.Min. Students

Currently-enrolled D.Min. students in good standing are eligible for the book mailing service.

A special web page for D.Min. students can be found at: http://www.barbourlibrary.org/dmin/ with links to forms and other resources.

To request the mail delivery of books from the Barbour Library (limit of five per transaction):

  • Consult CALVIN (the library catalog) at: http://innovative.pts.edu/

  •

The following guidelines apply to materials which may be sent using this service:
    1. Circulating Books, F.E.R. materials, and microfilm and microfiche may be loaned.
    2. Books in special collections (Reference, Reserve, Bibliographic, Anderson, Finney, etc.) – do not loan.
    3. Books in the stacks which are tied and marked as noncirculating – do not loan.
    4. Books which are older than 1860 – do not loan.
    5. Other books in the stacks which the librarian deems are not in condition to be sent through the U.S. mail system twice – do not loan.
    6. CD-ROMs are loaned when they are a circulating part of a printed material. No other formats may be loaned.
    7. Articles in periodicals may be photocopied and sent.

  • Select up to five books at a time and enter the appropriate information at: http://www.barbourlibrary.org/dmin/hold_form.php

Books can be recalled at any time when they are needed by the library for course reserves, etc. You will be notified of the recall and
will be asked to return the book(s) by mail as soon as possible.

A current address, phone number and email is required on the form so that the library has accurate information for mailing and for
    contacting you regarding your request.

Books will be mailed to you via media mail. The normal 4 week loan is extended to 6 weeks to accommodate travel time from the
library to you and from you back to the library.

A return mailing label and instructions are included with the package. You may use the same box or bag to return the books before or by the
due date. Allow 5 to 7 days for Media Mail and 2 – 4 days for First Class Mail.

If you visit the Barbour Library and borrow books which you plan to return by mail, stop at the Circulation Desk and request a Return Mailing Label.
You can also download additional mailing labels using this link.

If you have any additional questions, you can enter them in the box on the form, or email them directly to: circdesk@pts.edu and a librarian will reply.
